iNSPIRETEK and Base Tennis are teaming up to drive a new standard in young athlete mental health and wellbeing, at a time when connection has become one of the most important aspects in the lives of children and adolescents in Germany.

A recent study found two-thirds of German children and adolescents reported being highly burdened by the COVID-19 pandemic, concluding that identification of mental health issues early on will be key to preventing further exacerbation.* Through this partnership, iNSPIRETEK and Base Tennis are tackling this issue head on.

iNSPIRETEK’s ‘prevention via prediction’ tools and ‘automated intervention’ mental health technology are integral to their suite of products, which includes their flagship app infinite and insight, the company’s big data and advanced analytics platform for commercial and community sport partners. “As a former competitive athlete, I know first hand how important athlete mental health and wellbeing is, having experienced anxiety and an eating disorder at the height of my sports career,” said iNSPIRETEK CEO, Annie Flamsteed. “We’re beyond excited to partner with Base Tennis, knowing how much difference we can make in the lives of their players, whether they continue on with a collegiate or professional tennis career or as they move throughout the rest of their lives.”

Founded in 2010, Base Tennis is a highly regarded boutique tennis academy that caters for athletes of all ages and standards. At a competitive level, over 25 athletes have gone on to play NCAA Division 1 & 2 on scholarships, as well as producing many state, national and European champions.

“Base Tennis prides itself on offering an environment that is inclusive and which also allows talent to foster. A lot of the technology we have implemented to date has been based around the performance of our athletes and therefore only a small percentage of our clients have really benefited. We love the fact with iNSPIRETEK we can have insight into the person behind the athlete, and also introduce the service to all of our youth athletes in our program regardless of their age or level”

The two companies are actively developing new programs which leverage iNSPIRETEK’s technology to better support athlete wellbeing, along with helping them to build stronger connections with their coaches, club and community. These programs have the capacity to be utilised by other sports and education organisations in Germany as well as throughout Europe.
